JPMC operations involve a number of environmental issues, mainly the dust associated with the mining and production processes at Al-Hassa, Al-Abiad and Eshidiya Mines and gaseous emissions and liquid effluent from the Aqaba complex.
In retrospect to the dust control at the mine locations, JPMC has introduced the use of telescopic tubes for the dumping of materials and the building up of stockpiles and has introduced closed systems, including dust collection systems in the production processes.
As for the Aqaba fertilizer Complex, plant and equipment design have were based on standards issued by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of the United States Aqaba fertilizer Complex has managed to obtain ISO 14001.
